The Heart Behind the Music
A Life Rooted in Fatin, A Passion Born Through Worship, and a Calling to Minister Through Song.
Timmy Wright, affectionately known as Tim, is a gospel music artist, songwriter, husband, father, and, most importantly, a man with a heart for ministry.
Tim’s love for music began at an early age. Growing up, he found himself writing songs while developing a passion for singing that started back in grade school. What began as a childhood love gradually grew into something much deeper: a calling to use music as a way to encourage, uplift, and minister to others.
For Tim, music is more than a talent or a passion. It is a gift from God and a powerful way to reach the hearts and souls of people. He believes that a song can speak when words are hard to find, bring comfort when life feels overwhelming, and remind someone that they are never alone, even in their darkest moments.
For many years, Tim has served as part of the devotional and praise and worship team at his home church. Through those experiences, his love for worship and his desire to minister through music have continued to grow. His heart is not simply to make music, but to create something that people can connect with spiritually and carry with them long after the music stops.
Outside of music, Tim treasures his family. He has been married to his wife, MaStar, affectionately known as Star, for 26 years. Together, they have raised four children: TaMiyah, Timmy Jr., TaLonna, and TiNia. His family is an important part of his journey and the foundation of the life he continues to build.
As Tim shares his music with the world, his prayer is that every song reaches someone who needs encouragement, strength, hope, or a reminder of God’s love.
His message is simple: Music is more than something you hear; it is something you feel. And when it is given to God, it can become a ministry that touches places in the soul that words alone cannot reach.
So, wherever life finds you, whatever battles you may be facing, take a moment to listen. Let the music encourage you, strengthen your faith, and remind you that even in your darkest hour, there is still a reason to praise.
